“Thank you. He already asked me where he could exchange his dollars for Vermont money.”

Welp.  Ableton Live 10 was released.  I downloaded and installed it within moments of receiving the email with my authorization, just after 2 AM.  I couldn’t sleep until everything was just so, and I rebooted my machine.  My Push 2 was also updated.  It’s even better now.  I have a Midi Fighter 3D I use it when creating beats.  Finger drumming is fabulous.  Let’s have a moment of silence out of reverence for Quantize; my new bestie.

I haven’t had much time to try all the new features yet, but I’m thrilled with Ableton Live 10.  I did run into a problem with my Push 2 repeatedly rebooting.  I’m highly suspicious of my USB hub.  It’s new, but I already had to replace the USB cable it came with because the connector fell off.  I ordered a replacement from Aukey on Amazon, as I’ve never had any issues with their products.

I have a rehearsal with my band tomorrow.  I’m so excited I can barely stand it.  I’m going to volunteer for songwriting.  (I’m hoping the fact I’m still learning how to create songs doesn’t get in the way.)  I have songs in me.  I just haven’t worked out how to get them out of me yet.  I need a bit more time to learn how to use my tools.  Plus, I have an overwhelming number of software instruments at my disposal, now.  It’s become difficult to justify sleeping.  Heh.

My Baby Bot arrived recently.  I love it.  It’s an Atari Console with CV inputs.  Unfortunately, the Etsy shop owner wasn’t able to use my designer vinyl figures to create similar instruments.  It would have required cutting them to gain access, so he’s sending them back.  (I’m probably going to order a Dremel and have at them myself at some point.)  I love the chrome knobs and LED eyes.  It looks creepy and adorable at the same time.  I’m totally going to use it in some songs.

I’m hoping I have time to play with it this weekend.  I’m freezing from swimming earlier.  There’s too much new snow for me to run outside, so I figured it would be more fun than using a treadmill.  I was mistaken.  It’s supposedly a heated pool, but it takes a lot more convincing when it’s 3° F outside.  I’m so over winter.
