“I don’t even have a pla.”

I finally got around to taking crappy photos of my home studio.  It’s also where I write.  I decided against adding LED lighting to my keyboard stand.  Everything on it has LED lights when on, so I think it may have been too much.  I’m sensitive to bright lights, so ambient lighting rules in my home.  Plus I like controlling it all with my phone.  Heh.

On top is my Ableton Push 2.  Below is a Korg OK GO Volca Sample, Korg Volca Bass, and Korg Nanokey Studio.  The white gadget is an Arturia Beatstep Pro.  In the middle is my Midi Fighter 3D.  Then the Novation Launchpad, a circuit bent Sound Machine, and an F*** Sound Machine.  On the desk is my new Rode NT-USB mic.  On the mousepad behind it are various connectors for midi, iPad Pro, etc.

You can see the LED strip below my desk illuminating one of the Decksaver covers in this crappy photo.  Also, my WASD mechanical keyboard.  Barely shown are my teenage engineering Pocket Operators.  So far, I have Robot, Arcade, Tonic, Office, and Sub.  I want to add Factory eventually.  The new ones, Speak and K.O.,  look interesting, as well.  I love this company.  I can’t wait till the OP-Z is released.  You can see them a bit better in the crappy photo below.

My mouse is a Mionix Castor, and it’s fabulous for creative apps.  Plus it matches my speakers.  🙃  I identified everything else in my last home studio update.  The keyboard stand has a laptop tray accessory that attaches to the leg.  I haven’t decided if I want it for my MacBook Pro.   I think I’ll hold off until I’m ready to perform.

My new client is an 8-year-old girl who wants to be a drummer.  She’s autistic too; which explains how her mom identified me as such so promptly.  I invited her to join me in drummer training at the (real) studio after school three days a week.  She stopped by my apartment with her mom today.

Unfortunately, I’m trying to pass a kidney stone, so I haven’t been to the studio recently.  I’m hoping to go tomorrow.  My job doesn’t require much of my time, which frustrates me.  However, my role is mostly to show the co-owner all the secret handshakes necessary to succeed without me.  The co-owner is doing great with the new information.  The company has already made more this quarter than the last four combined.

I’m thrilled because I can’t wait to get out of there and do something fulfilling or at least challenging.   Since I’ve been a hostage to the pain of late, I finished working out my song.   Guitar Hero said, “I don’t hate it.”  I decided it means I’ve made some progress.  I’m off to read.
